Interview with RGPBALLS’ Foreign Sales Manager on changes in the world market for industrial balls

1. A BRIEF PRESENTATION – WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE AND HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING IN THIS ROLE AT RGPBALLS?
‘I have been working with RGPBALLS for 14 years, starting as an Import Manager before moving to the foreign office to make better use of my degree in languages.
I have been leading this office for eight years, dealing directly with the German market and indirectly with other markets in Europe and worldwide.
My mission and that of my team are focused on defining business strategies and identifying optimal actions to achieve sales targets. This includes expanding our customer portfolio and effectively managing relationships with existing customers, accompanying them at every stage of the sales process.’
2. HOW HAVE THE RECENT GLOBAL CHANGES IMPACTED DEMAND IN YOUR INDUSTRY?
‘Recent global events, from the pandemic to the crisis in Ukraine and the Middle East, have had a major impact on our industry.
Key sectors such as the German automotive industry and foreign markets such as Russia have been hit hard by energy crises, international sanctions, inflation and rising rates.
However, our corporate strategy of diversifying the markets for industrial balls has allowed us to face these changes with some resilience, limiting the negative impacts.’
3. WHAT ARE THE MAJOR COMMERCIAL CHALLENGES IN THE FOREIGN MARKET TODAY, AND HOW DOES RGPBALLS PLAN TO ADDRESS THEM?
‘The main commercial challenge for us remains the differentiation of sectors and markets.
Currently, we are focusing on sectors less affected by recent global changes, while maintaining the integrity that has characterised RGPBALLS for 50 years.
In a climate where many customers seek high performance and excellent quality at low cost, our biggest challenge is to distinguish ourselves from competitors who sometimes offer low-quality products with false promises.
Our consistency in corporate values, our high level of certification and rigorous laboratory work are the strengths that distinguish us in this difficult environment.’
